We established the HNG Older Men’s Social Group because men are under-represented as participants in our activities. Men are also traditionally less likely than women to have strong social networks and they are unlikely to admit that they are lonely and typically do not ask for help.
This report looks at how the group improved the health & wellbeing of men over 55 and the impact on reducing their social isolation.

MEWSO, TKCWWG and HNG work in partnership through their membership of the Finsbury Park Women’s Groups Network. This is a network of community groups serving women in the Finsbury Park area that has meets regularly. It promotes joint working through delivery of services such as community cohesion events and ESOL classes.
This report presents the findings of a community research project carried out by MEWSO, TKCWWG and HNG aimed at understanding local communities’ experiences and views of health services in Islington.
